Triggers: Dark, loud, neon bright colors, flashing lights
Pro: You have control of your pod, so you can create minimal movement through this slow moving ride
Exit: The exit is directly next to the entrance should your child decide not to ride last minute
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is always a go-to for us and a favorite of my son with SPD. No fast movement, no drops and fun with a laser gun! As mentioned above if your child is triggered by loud noise and bright lights, you might want to skip this one. I do always recommend noise cancelling headphones (here are the ones we use!) if noise might be the only factor! The pods are slow moving and all connected similar to Little Mermaid, Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan. We have easily fit one adult and 2 kids in the same pod, but there are only 2 laser guns per pod.
There is a joystick in the center of the console within the pod that allows you to spin completely around to shoot targets all around you. It is slightly jerky but very mild. Occasionally the ride will slow to accomodate riders entering or exiting the ride, but an announcement will prepare riders for commencement when speeding back up. Check out the video below! I also HIGHLY recommend having your sensory child watch the video with you! We always find success when our sensory child is fully prepared for a ride so anxiety about the unknown doesn’t take over.
